Clipping earnings calculator
Clipping earnings calculator: what would your clips have earned?
Clipping campaigns pay for short clips cut from streams, podcasts, interviews and shows. Paste your account to see what your last 30 days of posts would have earned at live clipping rates.
What clipping campaigns are
A clipping campaign starts with someone else's long-form content. A streamer, podcaster, athlete or show owner publishes hours of video and pays creators to cut the best moments into short vertical clips. There is no song to pick and no logo to place. The skill is spotting the moment that makes a stranger stop scrolling, then trimming it cleanly, adding captions and posting before the moment goes stale.
The brief tells you what you may clip: which channel or episodes, how long a clip can run, whether the host must be on screen and whether captions or a watermark are required. Because the source is public, you compete with other clippers cutting the same stream, so speed and an eye for moments others skip both matter. If you would rather cut to music than to speech, the edits calculator covers that, and the clipping guide explains how to start.
How clipping campaigns pay
As of October 2026, ClippingCalc tracks 32 live clipping campaigns. On TikTok the average one pays $934 per 1M views, ranging from $100 to $2,500 per 1M views. Clipping is spread more evenly across platforms than music is: 29 campaigns take TikTok, 27 take Instagram Reels and 24 take YouTube Shorts, so one clip can often be posted on all three.
Caps matter as much as rates. The typical clipping campaign stops paying at $1,000 per post, against $450 for music campaigns, and the most generous goes up to $2,000, though only a clip with very large view counts gets near that. Posts need about 2,000 views before they earn. For comparison, the average live music campaign pays $1,257 per 1M views on TikTok. The calculator averages every live clipping campaign that accepts your platform, so you see what a typical one would have paid for your real posts.

Frequently asked questions
How much do clippers make?
It depends on views and the campaign. As of October 2026, the average live clipping campaign pays $934 per 1M views on TikTok with a typical cap of $1,000 per post. A clip that gets 20,000 views would be worth about $19 at that average. A clipper who posts every day multiplies that by the number of clips that clear the minimum, which is why the calculator adds up your last 30 days.
What can I clip?
Only what the campaign's brief allows. That is usually the owner's own streams, podcast episodes, interviews or shows, sometimes limited to recent uploads or to moments where the host is on screen. Clips of material that is not part of a live campaign do not earn from it, and cutting other people's content without permission can break copyright or platform rules.
Do I need the streamer's permission?
When you clip for a campaign, the owner of the content set the campaign up, so the permission comes with the brief. Follow its rules on length, captions and what must be on screen. If you want to clip a creator who has no campaign running, ask them first.
Which platform pays the most for clips?
Compare the table above: the rate you earn is set per campaign, and most clipping campaigns pay the same on every platform they accept. The difference is mainly how many campaigns accept each one. As of October 2026, 29 take TikTok, 27 take Instagram Reels and 24 take YouTube Shorts.
How is the clipping estimate calculated?
For each post from the last 30 days we apply every live clipping campaign that accepts your platform: views divided by 1,000 times the rate, nothing under the minimum views, never more than the per-post cap. Those results are averaged across campaigns and summed over your posts. It estimates past posts at today's terms, not future income.
